Dentures are removable appliances used to replace missing teeth. In the case of partial dentures, your existing teeth are used as anchors to support the replacement teeth. For those patients without any natural teeth, the gums, bones, and muscles in the mouth are used for support. Each of our dentists as well as our denturist, Carmelo, would be happy to help you decide which type of denture suits your needs best. We are also happy to look at your old dentures to see if any repairs or improvements can be made. The newest improvement that can be made to poorly supported dentures is the addition of mini-implants. These mini-implants can anchor your denture into your mouth for a drastic improvement in your denture’s stability.
Mini-Implants
Are you or a family member frustrated by dentures that move when you chew and speak? If so, ask our dentists whether you would benefit from mini-implants. Mini dental implants are small artificial tooth roots made of titanium that can be fitted to your existing denture. Your denture will snap onto the implants, making your denture very strong and stable. In most cases, implants can be placed in less than 1 hour with very little discomfort and very quick healing.
